Easy Air Fryer Broccolini

This super-easy side dish is delicious, full of flavor, and has the perfect crispy crunch on the outside. This air fryer broccolini takes less than 10 minutes to make and can be paired with just about any meal!

Cooking sides in the air fryer is one of my favorite this because they taste good, and there is no mess. Try out a few more of my favorites, like these air fryer crab cakes, these french fries, or this corn on the cob.

What is Broccolini?

I love air frying veggies and this broccolini is no exception! Broccolini (sometimes called baby broccoli) is similar to regular broccoli, except it has longer stems and small florets on top. It has the same taste and texture, but I love using broccolini because I like that it’s a bit bigger.

The reason that I love cooking up broccolini in my air fryer is because of the texture! I am a sucker for roasting vegetables and this recipe does the same thing but in half the time and with no mess. I like to pair my broccolini with some chicken and potatoes and make it a meal!

Ingredients to Make Air Fryer Broccolini

This broccolini is covered in a delicious lemon garlic parmesan sauce. It has the best flavor! Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Broccolini: You can find this with all of the other fresh vegetables in your local grocery store.
  • Olive Oil: I like to use regular olive oil. But, you can use extra virgin olive oil if you have that instead.
  • Garlic Cloves: If you don’t have any fresh garlic cloevs then you can use minced garlic. ½ teaspoon equals about 1 clove of garlic.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: I love the bright splash of flavor that this brings.
  • Parmesan Cheese: You mix this into the sauce and also sprinkle it on top just before cooking the broccolini.
  • Salt and Black Pepper: You can add as much as little of these seasonings as you want to make it fit your taste.

How to Make Air Fryer Broccolini

You are going to love this easy air fryer broccolini recipe! It’s so delicious and easy to make and the cook time is so short that you can whip it up just before dinnertime.

  1. Whisk: In a small bowl whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan, and salt and pepper. 
  2. Pour: Place your broccolini in the air fryer basket and pour the mixture over it. 
  3. Rub: Coat the broccolini by rubbing the sauce all over each stalk.
  4. Sprinkle: Sprinkle the top with the remaining shredded parmesan.
  5. Cook: Cook it in the air fryer at 380 degrees for 7-10 minutes or until crispy and tender.

Air Fryer Tips

Before you get started on making broccolini with your air fryer, there are some tips that I recommend so that your food turns out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

  • Don’t Overcrowd the Basket: The most important rule (in my opinion) is that you don’t try to fill the air fryer’s basket up with too much food at once. When you overfill the basket and your food is all touching then it doesn’t cook evenly. The parts that touch will remain soggy and you won’t get that delicious and crisp edge that the air fryer is known for! Cook them in a single layer for the best results.
  • Shake the Basket: Give the basket a good shake throughout the cooking process! This helps to cook and brown the food more evenly. I like to do this with fries, vegetables, and anything I want to crisp and brown really well. Just pull open the basket a few times during the cooking process, shake to toss the ingredients inside, and replace the basket to continue cooking.

Balsamic Honey Grilled Brussels Sprouts

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with a balsamic honey glaze, these grilled brussels sprouts are the best side dish for summer and early fall! The amazing tangy flavor and tender, caramelized texture of these brussels sprouts will make even the pickiest of eaters a fan.

Grilled Brussels Sprouts With Balsamic Honey Glaze

Brussels sprouts seem to be the kind of thing you either love or hate. I personally love them, and I think even the non-believers will change their minds after trying them grilled. Grilling brussels sprouts makes the outside perfectly caramelized and crispy while keeping the insides tender and juicy. I’ve paired these brussels sprouts with a tangy balsamic honey glaze for mouthwatering flavor you won’t be able to get enough of. They’re my new favorite thing to make on the grill. (Well- maybe tied with these grilled Asian garlic steak skewers.)

Plus, they only take 10 minutes to cook making them the perfect last-minute barbecue addition! Everything You’ll Need to Make Them

All you need are fresh brussels sprouts and a handful of kitchen staple seasonings and sauces to make this tasty side! You’ll be surprised at the amazing flavor you get from just a few simple ingredients. You can find exact measurements in the recipe card below.

  • Brussels Sprouts: Since these are the star of the show, you’ll want to make sure they’re fresh! Look for brussels sprouts that are vibrant green and nice and firm.
  • Honey: Adds sweetness and helps the glaze to stick to the brussels sprouts.
  • Garlic: For a punch of savory flavor in each bite.
  • Balsamic Vinegar: This is the foundation of the glaze. It will add the best sweet and tangy flavor to your veggies!
  • Olive Oil: Adds moisture and helps all the delicious flavors to stick!
  • Seasonings: I used salt, pepper, and a pinch of crushed red pepper.

How to Make the Best Grilled Brussels Sprouts

These grilled brussels sprouts with a honey balsamic glaze will be a favorite at the dinner table this summer. They’re just too good! The best part, in my opinion, is the fact that they’re so quick and easy to make. I’m always looking for new vegetable side dishes to switch things up and these have quickly become a new favorite of mine! The flavor is so addictive.

  1. Preheat Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Trim Brussels Sprouts: Cut the bottoms of the brussels sprouts off.
  3. Blanch: Place them in a large bowl and fill with water until they are covered. Microwave for 5 minutes or until they become slightly soft, then strain out the water.
  4. Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, and salt and pepper.
  5. Coat, Add to Skewers: Pour the sauce over the brussels sprouts, then thread them onto the skewers.
  6. Cook and Serve: Add to the grill and cook for 5 minutes on each side, while basting the extra sauce on. Serve immediately.

Cooking Tips

These are a few extra things to keep in mind when you grill your brussels sprouts so that they turn out perfectly!

  • Don’t Skip Blanching: I always like to precook my brussels sprouts in the microwave so that they soften a little before grilling. If you skip this, the outsides may burn before the insides get nice and tender.
  • Use Foil: If you don’t want to cook your brussels sprouts on a skewer, you can cook a batch of them in foil instead. Lining your grill with tin foil helps to keep in all of the delicious seasonings and prevents your brussels sprouts from falling through the grate.
  • Add Spice: If you want your balsamic glaze to have more spice, feel free to add more red pepper flakes or even a pinch of cayenne until you reach your desired flavor.

Storing Leftovers

Fresh off the grill is the best way to eat this delicious side, but if you have leftovers, here’s how to keep your grilled brussels sprouts tasting fresh and delicious!

  • In the Refrigerator: Store leftover brussels sprouts in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Reheating: Lay your brussels sprouts out evenly on a baking sheet and cook for 5 minutes or until warmed through at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Tips for Grilling Delicious Food

To make sure that all of these top summer grilling recipes turn out perfectly, I have put together a few tips for grilling. Follow these and you will be all set for the entire season!

  • Start with a clean grill: The reason that you want to start with a clean grill is because you don’t want to mix old, stuck on food flavors to your delicious and fresh recipe. Clean the grill so that this doesn’t happen!
  • Don’t flatten your meat: I know that its tempting to want to flatten your meat and spread it out as it cooks. But don’t do it! This makes it so that all of the juices go out of your meat and make it dry out. Let it be and only touch it if you have to flip it!
  • Use a meat thermometer: Meats are done cooking at different temperatures. To make sure that you aren’t eating undercooked meat then get a meat thermometer and use it often! There are so many options of different recipes for grilling meat in the summer, just make sure that you are cooking it safely!
  • Let it rest!: If you want the most juicy and tender meat then let it rest! Once it’s finished on the grill, set it aside and don’t cut into it for about 10 minutes. This is actually when the meat is absorbing all of the flavor and juices and is SO important to getting that tender and amazingly delicious meat.
